THE STORY OF
KASSATLY CHTAURA

A legacy of innovation, quality, and authenticity

Kassatly Chtaura Factory

Welcome to our factory!

Where tradition meets innovation in every bottle

Kassatly Chtaura was established in 1974 by our Founder and President and CEO Mr. Akram Kassatly who had the idea of creating the first bottled Jallab for home-preparation.

The beloved drink was soon followed by a whole range of concentrated syrups, and flower extracts. These creations proved successful introducing Kassatly Chtaura as a repute and innovative establishment.

The portfolio has evolved from traditional syrups to producing soft drinks, RTD vodka mixes, beer, wine and juices... a wide range of beverages that makes us a beverage specialized family group.
50 years later, the group is multinational with factories in Lebanon serving the Middle East and Africa, and a brand-new state of the art European factory in Cyprus exporting to Europe and America.

Our Journey Through Time

The Kassatly journey began in 1919, bottling wine for the French Army and selling syrups in the streets of Beirut. In 1974, Akram Kassatly transformed this heritage into Kassatly Chtaura, setting the stage for the company's remarkable story that follows.

1974

The Beginning

In 1974, oenology graduate Akram Kassatly returned from Bourgogne with a dream of producing wine. When Lebanon's situation made that impossible, he transformed the challenge into innovation — creating the first concentrated Jallab and introducing a beloved traditional drink to households nationwide.
1980s & 1990s

The First Growth

In the 1980s, the company expanded into syrups and liqueurs, developing a wide range of SKUs — from orange blossom to Irish cream and more than 20 traditional varieties. This growth helped establish Kassatly Chtaura as a household name, reinforced by its iconic advertising songs "Ya Hala Jallabi" and "Liqueur, Liqueur Moi." This momentum naturally evolved into producing juices by the 1990s.
2000s

The Multi-Brand Expansion Era

2001 BUZZ

In 2001, as the second generation joined the company with a vision to expand, they saw opportunity in a category that barely existed. They launched BUZZ — a vodka-mix ready-to-drink beverage in both glass and cans — which quickly became a nationwide brand, elevating pre-drink culture by making cocktails accessible and ready to enjoy.

2002 Freez

In 2002, growing consumer demand emerged for a non-alcoholic alternative to BUZZ. This led to the creation of the legendary FREEZ — a brand that rapidly evolved through independent R&D to become a premium carbonated soft drink in its own right, entirely separate from BUZZ and defining its own category.

2005 Chateau Ka Wine

In 2005, after 30 years of hard work, Akram finally fulfilled his lifelong dream of building his own winery — Château Ka. This milestone elevated the company to a new level, introducing heritage wines crafted with complete control from vineyard to bottle, and expressing craftsmanship at every step of the journey.
2014

Beirut Beer

In just 11 months, Beirut Beer was created from greenfield to bottle — a 100% local breakthrough that disrupted a long-standing market monopoly. It quickly captured a significant share of the market and became a recognized, trusted brand nationwide. Backed by intensive marketing, a commitment to excellence, and one of the most advanced breweries in the region, Beirut Beer redefined what a Lebanese beer could be.
2016

Freez Mix Innovation

In 2016, the premium carbonated soft drink FREEZ underwent a complete transformation — introducing advanced color-bottling technology, an easy-open ring pull, and a full brand evolution from FREEZ to FREEZ MIX. This marked the creation of a truly premium soft drink, crafted to set new standards in its category.
2018

Mezza Launch

Kassatly Chtaura released due to market demand a non-alcoholic malt beverage, Mezza. The Brand offers 6 different flavors and is low-in-calories, making it a round-the-clock greatly refreshing beverage.
2024

European expansion

In 2024, Kassatly Chtaura expanded its vision internationally by building a high-end mega plant in Europe, choosing Cyprus as its second strategic base. This milestone aims to accelerate European and American exports of our flagship brand, FREEZ MIX, and reinforce our global presence.
